A man has died and two women were injured in a high-speed accident in northeast Houston. Officials state that the accident occurred last night in the Trinity/Houston Gardens area on the northeast side of town.
Officers state that they received a call a few minutes before 7 p.m. to the 4700 block of Kelley Street, near where it intersects with Wipprecht Street. They arrived onto the scene to find a vehicle that had crashed into some trees. Police state they believe the driver was traveling at high speeds when they hit a fire hydrant, causing the car to flip into some nearby trees.
Authorities believe that one of the women was driving the vehicle, though the circumstances of the accident are still being investigated. Both of the women in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital, and are expected to recover. The other passenger, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
