A rollover bus accident in Waller County has left 16 people injured. The accident occurred last night at about 11 p.m. on Highway 290, near the Buc-ee’s just off of FM 362.
The charter bus was driving in the eastbound lanes of 290 at the time of the accident. Police state it was a single-vehicle accident, and they are still working to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash.
The bus was carrying a baseball team from the Spartans Postgrad Baseball Academy. The team was heading home to Tomball after playing a game in Ranger, Texas. Of the 22 people on the bus at the time of the rollover accident, 16 were injured.
One of the players had to be cut out of the bus. That player and another passenger were transported to a nearby hospital via helicopter, while ten others were transported to the hospital by EMS. Waller County officials report that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
